Yesterday, Jason and I visited the Tulip Festival and we had dinner at Dreamland Cafe.
We headed over to Dreamland Cafe around 5:30pm. We made a reservation due to the limited seating capacity. The cafe is very small so we would recommend making a reservation online through OpenTable. We sat on the small patio outside. The restaurant is super cute and colorful. It wasn't very busy when we arrived but by the time we left, the restaurant and all of Preston Street were packed!
To start, we ordered lemonade and garlic dippers. There were four garlic dippers and they came with three sauces to dip in. They were super good!
For our meals, Jason ordered Penne pesto with chicken and I ordered the Fettuccine alfredo.

We both thought our meals were delicious! As for me, I really liked the alfredo sauce. It was thick but not super heavy and very creamy. I have tried many Fettuccine alfredo dishes at other restaurants and this one is definitely top 3! As for Jason, he thought the pesto was very good and flavourful.

The service was very fast and our server was helpful and friendly! The prices are quite reasonable and the portions were decent although Jason felt his was a bit small. However, Jason says he was also really hungry LOL. Overall, we highly recommended checking out this local gem!

After dinner, we drove over to the Tulip Festival. Parking is available at the parking lot across from Dows Lake for a fee. We saw that some of the side streets had free parking available when in past years they were all no parking zones. Friday was opening day and the weather was beautiful, so it was very busy!
We have been going to the Tulip Festival for three years now as a summer tradition. We were so happy to go back this year and explore in the hot, sunny weather! This year, there was definitely more of a festival feel. There were many food trucks and booths such as merchandise, photo booths, lawn games, and more! They were even selling bouquets of tulips!

Here are some photos that we got at the festival!

One thing we noticed was that some of the tulips were not fully bloomed yet. This makes sense since it was opening weekend and I'm sure they will blossom as the days go by. Other than the fact that it was super busy, we had a great time!
Have an amazing weekend everyone! :)
